New features added to the FluxVision WMS solution

Home / WMS / New features added to the FluxVision WMS solution

The latest version of FluxVision WMS comes with a number of new features that allow you to streamline the activities carried out in the warehouse. We are talking here about developments in areas such as the organization of numerical series in complex structures, with major benefits for those who use single series, the organization of transport units in hierarchies, which facilitates the process of tracking complex structures of boxes or pallets, packaging records for reporting to Environmental Agency, custom decoding of composite barcodes or extending the process of grouping orders for delivery by adding new dimensions, and more. See below for a detailed description of the most important features.

Organizing numerical series in complex structures

The possibility of organizing numerical series in WMS into complex structures has been developed, so that if a parent numeric series is involved in a motion of storage, all other numerical series in the structure will behave identically.

This new functionality is useful for all those who use unique series: telephony, electricity, gas, etc. Thus, it is easy to keep track of complex structures, both as a stock (what series are found in the structure) and as a composition (how each piece of equipment is placed in the structure). Once the structure is formed, all physical manipulations (moving, transfer, etc.) are done by scanning the “housing” once.

Organization of transport units (SSCC) in hierarchies

The possibility of organizing transport units (SSCCs) in hierarchies. Thus, pallets can be ranked in structures without having a certain limit of levels. Moving the parent pallet leads to moving all the pallets in the structure. This functionality is useful for all those who use hierarchical transport units: boxes in boxes, pallet boxes, overlapping pallets, etc.

You can easily keep track of complex box / pallet / etc structures. Once the structure is formed, all physical manipulations (move, transfer, etc.) are done by scanning the parent transport unit once (for example if there are 10 boxes on a pallet, each box can be moved individually but if the pallet is moved all are moved automatically the boxes on it).

Record of packaging received or delivered for reporting to the Environmental Agency

For reporting to the Environmental Agency of packaging purchased or sold was developed in WMS a window detailing all packages declared as packaging

for reporting to the Environment in defining the item, depending on the quantity of the item that was sold or purchased. In this way, preliminary data can be obtained for the preparation of a report in accordance with the applicable environmental reporting requirements.

Real-time AWB printing

The possibility of printing AWB from the mobile terminal via Telnet has been developed. To perform this operation it is necessary to at the level of the customer order to all the shipping details required for the set courier have already been established. Settings of these parameters at the level of the customer order is a development available from this version.

This new development is useful for all those who ship goods by courier. The AWB can be printed in real time based on the situation resulting from the packaging process.

Reception with sorting

A new functionality has been developed in the reception and putaway process, “Sorted reception”. During the reception process, the goods can be sorted in containers temporary (SSCCs) according to its positioning on the shelf (each corresponding item location). In the next step, the system proposes the locations where each article should be placed, optimizing the route for the putaway.

The functionality is useful for all those who receive mixed goods from suppliers; generally those who sell small products.

Benefits:

  • The products received can be counted very easily by scanning each object separately
  • Products are automatically sorted in separate boxes – FluxVision WMS tells the receiver which box to put each product in
  • The boxes resulting from the reception process can be grouped so that the products are placed on the shelf through an optimal route, through a single passage of the warehouse.

Custom decoding of composite barcodes

A higher level was added to the item parameterization flow. This level can be hierarchically unlimited. In the custom barcode decoding window or non-standard GS1 QR codes, but containing more logistical information, article and article category fields have also been added, making it more flexible for decoding.

This possibility is useful for all those who receive from suppliers goods labeled with bar codes, but which do not comply with the international standard GS1, especially the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Any atypical barcode formats can be configured in the system, especially compound barcodes that contain several pieces of information in a single code, so that all useful information can be extracted from them: item, batch, expiry date, etc.

Extending the process of grouping orders for delivery

The “Group delivery orders” process has been extended, with new dimensions being added grouping, such as: Order weight, Order volume, Number of lines, Order quantity.

All those who sell small products in small quantities (such as online stores) can automatically group delivery orders according to criteria that ensure that:

  • All orders in the group are collected on an optimal route (one go through the warehouse)
  • The volume of the products is analyzed so that the orders in the group can be placed on a single transport unit (pallet, trolley, etc.).

Select the desired batch

The possibility to select the desired batch (human decision) on the exit confirmation line has been added. It is the case where the operator has the freedom to choose the lot manually, from the available lots, in compliance with the expiry date imposed.

Useful for all those who sell products with batch / expiration date and contracts with customers require them to violate the FIFO / FEFO rule. Thus, the promised lots / expiration dates can be delivered to the customer exactly.

Printing on delivery of additional documents

The print attachment functionality for articles has been extended. it can also opt for their printing depending on the quantity delivered (one copy each) for each unit delivered.

It’s an useful functionality for all those who need to print additional documents upon delivery: warranties, instructions for use / assembly, etc.

Various documents can be printed automatically during the packaging process. Depending on the settings, WMS automatically prints all the documents that need to be included in the package to the workstation printer.

Obligation to enter data exclusively by scanning

Telnet window fields can be customized so that it is mandatory to enter data exclusively by scanning, thus limiting the possibility of manually entering the barcode into the scannable field. Customization is done through a specific parameter on the fields of telnet windows.

This new functionality is useful for all those who want to ensure that workers follow the instructions.

In some situations, warehouse workers may try to cheat out of convenience; for example they are told to put a product in location X, but because it is far away the worker manually enters the location code on the mobile terminal and puts the product elsewhere. With this setting the worker will be forced to scan the barcode of the respective location.
